Where to buy the new iPhones in New Zealand
So the new iPhones are here. After the initial “I’m going to stand in line for three days in the rain just to get one” craze is over, it’s time to find out where to buy one. That is if you’re going to fork over your hard earned dollars for a slight improvement of last year’s model with a fingerprint scanner, the 5S, or the 4S with a beautiful paint job on plastic, the 5C.
If you’re getting the iPhones on a plan, Telecom is not your friend. They’re offering the 16GB 5S on a 24 Month Plan for $139 a month. The 32GB version will cost you $199 up front, and $139 a month. Here are some totals for you to ponder.
You’ll be paying $3,336 over 2 years for the 16GB improvement of the iPhone 5, or $3,535 over 2 years for the 32GB version.
For the 5C, you’ll need to pay $299 upfront for the 16GB colored smartphones, or $499 for the 32GB version. Additionally, you’ll need to give them $99 a month for two years.
You’ll be paying Telecom $2,675 over two years for the 16GB pimped out 4S, or $2,875 if you enjoy your gigabytes.
If you are personally invested in Telecom or are generally just too rich, you can go grab an iPhone here.
Vodafone is your best bet if you’re unwilling to pay for the smartphone upfront.
For the 5S and 5C, there are 2 possible combinations.
5S 16GB – $349 Up Front + $99 Per Month for 24 Months – $2,725 over 2 years. That’s cheaper than the 5C at Telecom!
5C 16GB – $199 Up Front + $99 Per Month for 24 Months – $2,575 over 2 years.
5S 16GB – $0 Up Front + $129 Per Month for 24 Months – $3,096 over 2 years.
5C 16GB – $0 Up Front + $129 Per Month for 24 Months – $3,096 over 2 years. You may as well go for the 5S – they’re the same price.
Skinny is not offering plans, but you can buy the iPhone 5S for the RRP of $899 through them on their website.
As of yet, 2 Degrees is not offering the iPhone for sale.
