Doc Brown demonstrates the Hoverboard in LA
Although this is clearly a viral video ad campaign, there may be some truth behind what HUVr, the company who produced the video, is saying.

Several predictions from Back To The Future II have actually been created. We use wireless video game controllers, handheld tablet computers, and Nike is (kind of) bringing us the self lacing shoes from the movie in 2015.
What we didn’t expect to see, but wanted the most, were the hoverboards. Check this out.
Sorry to disappoint, but this has been confirmed as fake. However, the HUVrTECH company website has the future date set to December 2014, and it says this on the About Us page:
“What began as a summer project in 2010 at the MIT Physics Graduate Program has evolved into one of the most exciting independent products to be developed out of MIT since the high-powered lithium-ion batteries developed by Yet-Ming Chiang in 2001. Our team consists of materials science, electricity & magnetism experts who’ve solved an important part of one of science’s mysteries: the key to antigravity.”
Here’s a video that’s supposed to explain how the tech works.
